National Development and Reform Commission recently released assessment result of energy-saving for the year 2008. There were 1000 enterprises participating in this assessment, including 23 paper mills. Among them 12 paper mills were assessed as “overfulfilling the energy-saving task”, including Gold East Paper while the other 11 paper mills were assessed as “fulfilling the energy-saving task”. These 23 paper mills realized equivalent energy-saving of 1.976 million tons of standard coal in 2008 and completed 152.6% of the "Eleventh Five-year Plan" energy saving target. Gold East Paper realized equivalent energy-saving of 299,000 tons of standard coal and completed 277.15% of the "Eleventh Five-year Plan" energy saving target.
