FOEX‘s northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) pulp index advanced $1.10/tonne to $826.03/tonne this week. The strengthening of the dollar against the euro boosted the euro-based bleached hardwood kraft pulp (BHK) index by Euro 6.74/tonne to Euro 521.54/tonne, while the dollar-based BHK index edged up $0.71/tonne to $728.38/tonne.

The newsprint index retreated Euro 4.74/tonne to Euro 498.94/tonne, in spite of the weakening of the euro against the basket of non-EMU currencies. The lightweight coated (LWC) paper index dipped Euro 2.04/tonne to Euro 653.90/tonne, while the coated woodfree index went up Euro 0.21/tonne to Euro 669.38/tonne. Copy paper rose Euro 1.43/tonne to Euro 774.23/tonne.

Unbleached kraftliner climbed Euro 6.53/tonne to Euro 429.58/tonne, and white-top kraftliner advanced Euro 5.08/tonne to Euro 633.81/tonne. Testliner 2 moved up Euro 1.62/tonne to Euro 342.95/tonne, and testliner 3 gained Euro 1.24/tonne to reach Euro 322.96/tonne. Recycled fluting went up Euro 1.01/tonne to Euro 309.98/tonne.

OCC rose Euro 3.13/tonne to Euro 84.56/tonne, and ONP/OMG moved up Euro 2.03/tonne to Euro 95.61/tonne.
